NYE Make-up

Disco, Disco! Party, Party!

BeFunky Collage

Good news for all the fans of everything sparkly and shiny who are loving themselves a fancy stand-out-in-the-crowd-look: Glitter is back, and this time it’s not just clothes only, but also make-up. For the even braver glitter fairies among us who like to show their keenest interpretation of a good partylook the trend has been taken a step further, by sparkling up your mane! Though glittering up might not be everyone’s styling fave, you can sport the look in many different ways.

A gold metallic parting with sleek hair might be just the thing to top off your classy evening outfit like a suit or an overall. It also matches perfectly with velvet.

Imagine this paired with a little black dress and smokey eyes while the rest of the face stays rather pale without any contour or too strong blush. Just add a little highlighter and non-coloured fixing gel on thick naturally-styled eyebrows.

These last two are great looks for a festival.

If you want some tips on where to look for the right products, here are some I tried so far:

MAC Glitter in 3D Silver: Can be used for face, hair and body. Actual glitter pigments. It can be combined with a base like one of MAC’s mixing mediums to make it last longer.

Barry M Fine Glitter Dust:  I use this one as eyeshadow, the glitter pigments are not as big as the ones in the MAC Glitter and it’s more like a powder with fine, subtle glitter in it.

Barry M Glitter Rush Body Glitter: The description on the website says it all: “Perfect solution if you’re looking for glitter on the go. Whether it be a for festival or big night out.”

Stargazer Glitter Lipstick:  Highly pigmented with actual glitter flakes in them. They are not the usual glitter lipsticks that add a little shimmer to your lips but make them actually sparkle! My favourite shade is ‘Glitter Multi’.
