Sylt Impressions

The thatched roof houses are typical of Sylt and other German islands.

Last summer a part of my family went to Sylt for my mum’s  and my stepdad’s wedding. They finally got married after almost 10 years of being together so they wanted to make it something special. Hence why we made a little trip to the German island to celebrate all together. His kids and her kids. So my sister and I took the dog and got on a flight.

Since it was my first time on Sylt, I have to say it’s quite lovely. The weather seems a bit unpredictable though, but once you make sure you’ll keep a thin, water-resistant jacket with you you’re good. It gets very windy at times, with the sun and the rain altering each other constantly it seems.  Don’t let the word “wind” fool you and take too many warm clothes with you, instead make sure you bring pieces you can use for layering so you can adjust to the weather 🙂

There’s also a beach on which dogs are allowed, one reason we took the dog with us in the first place. Lily’s first time at the beach.

Sometimes after going to exotic, far away places I tend to forget that my own country has quite some places to offer as well and I’m glad I was reminded of that.
